Most garage door emergencies trace back to a small issue that went unaddressed for months — 5 Star Garage Door Service's Ithaca, NY maintenance visits catch that wear before it becomes a breakdown.
We built our Garage Door Maintenance service around Ithaca, NY customers who need a specialist, not a generalist working outside their depth.
Every Ithaca, NY technician on this service line carries documentation you can ask to see, and we expect the question.
We check springs, cables, rollers, hinges, track alignment, and opener settings — the whole system.
We never pressure a replacement that isn't actually needed yet.
{Door balance and auto-reverse function get tested on every visit, not just new installs.|An opener working against an unbalanced door burns out years faster.|Sensor function gets verified as standard practice, every Ithaca, NY call.}
Annual or semi-annual plans are available for Ithaca, NY homeowners who'd rather not think about it until we call to schedule.
Rollers, hinges, tracks, and springs get inspected and properly lubricated — lubrication schedules vary by Ithaca, NY climate, with humid conditions needing more frequent attention.
We test door balance with the opener disconnected — tension gets adjusted as part of routine maintenance rather than waiting for full failure.
We verify auto-reverse function and force settings meet safety standards — sensor alignment gets corrected if it's drifted, even slightly.
We check for track misalignment and roller wear before either causes an incident — roller bearing condition gets assessed since a seized bearing accelerates track wear.
Bottom seals and side weatherstripping get checked for cracking or gaps — that let in Ithaca, NY weather and pests.

We'll suggest an interval based on your door's actual age and usage.
It's a comprehensive check, not just a quick lubrication pass.
Catching a worn roller or loosening spring during a scheduled visit is far cheaper than an emergency call.
We'll explain any recommended follow-up work separately, with its own quote.
